Public Warning Re: First London International Ltd Grand Turk, Turks and Caicos Islands, BWI – 19th March 2012

The Turks and Caicos Islands Financial Services Commission (TCIFSC) has been made aware that First London International Ltd and/or individuals connected to it are claiming either directly or indirectly to be authorized to conduct financial services business in or from within the Turks and Caicos Islands. The TCIFSC advises that First London International Limited is incorporated pursuant to the Companies Ordinance as an “Exempted Company” and therefore is prohibited from trade in the islands except in furtherance of the business of the exempt company carried on outside of the Islands or where such trade is minor in nature. The First London International Limited has not at any time held nor currently holds a financial services licence issued by the TCIFSC. The TCIFSC further advises that appropriate due diligence should be conducted before engaging in any business arrangement with companies that are claiming to be regulated and/or licensed by the TCIFSC. Caution should be exercised if and when conducting any transactions with financial companies whose financial services licence cannot be easily verified and/or are Exempted Companies purporting to conduct business within the Islands. The public is invited to provide the Commission with any relevant information on questionable entities which are purportedly operating in or from within the Islands. This Public Statement is issued pursuant to Section 39 of the Financial Services Commission Ordinance Cap 16:01
