Management Team
The Management Team is responsible for assisting the Managing Director in carrying out his functions which are detailed in section 11 of the Financial Services Ordinance 2007. These functions include, but are not limited to, responsibility for –
-
- the administration and operation of the Commission;
- the discharge of the Commission’s functions and the exercise of its powers;
- the appointment of the Commission’s employees, except those employees designated by the Board as senior employees, who shall be appointed by the Board;
- the management and supervision of the Commission’s employees;
- exercising the Commission’s powers under this Ordinance to cooperate with foreign regulatory authorities;
- the discharge of such functions and the exercise of such powers as may be assigned to, or conferred on him, by this or any other Ordinance or that may be delegated to him by the Board.
In discharging his functions and exercising his powers, the Managing Director shall use his best endeavours to ensure that –

- the resources of the Commission are utilised economically and efficiently;
- adequate internal financial and management controls are in place;

the Commission is operated in accordance with principles of good governance; and
-
the Commission fulfils its statutory obligations and properly discharges its functions.
